Nicole writes literary fiction and has completed a manuscript, and is working on another. She writes short stories as well, and her story "Passengers" appeared in Blue Lyra Review. "Place Values" appeared in Chicago Literati. She is a longtime member of the prestigious Writer’s Block Party Workshop in Orange County, CA. Barbara DeMarco-Barrett runs the group out of her writing studio, and they have public readings at least once a year at Laguna Beach Books.

Nicole is a co-host for “Writers on Writing” on KUCI 88.9 FM in Irvine. After working behind the scenes at KPCC in production on various public affairs shows for seven years, she is now taking a turn on the other side of the mic, and loving it.

Nicole holds a Ph.D. in theoretical linguistics from Rutgers University. She taught linguistics at Rutgers, UCLA, and Cal State LA. She also plays flute in a community orchestra.
